Thank you for your interest in the Edmonton Police Service. The EPS international recruiting initiative has been a great success and has resulted in attracting many fine candidates from various countries.
However, due to an overwhelming number of enquiries and applications into the International Applicant Program, the EPS is no longer accepting applications or resumes from applicants who have not attained Permanent Resident status.
If you have been granted Permanent Resident (PR) status, you may submit an application to the EPS after arrival in Canada. You would then enter into the regular recruit selection process. This also applies to those currently employed as a police officer in another country.
Eligible international applicants (i.e. those with PR status) must apply to the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) for verification of educational qualifications. IQAS will issue qualified applicants with an assessment certificate that will inform the EPS that the applicant has met the minimum educational requirement (equivalent to at least Grade 12 completed in Canada). The IQAS certificate must be included with the EPS application package and is the only certificate that is required; please do not enclose copies of educational certificates obtained in other countries.
The World Education Services (WES) is also accepted for verification of educational qualifications.
Please note: The Edmonton Police Service has no involvement with the acquisition of this certificate. All enquiries about obtaining the IQAS certificate should be directed to Alberta Employment and Immigration.
