Vacation

Tuition Reimbursement

EPS members taking additional training or educational may be eligible to receive reimbursement, either full or in part, for registration, examinations and laboratory expenses. Financial assistance may also be provided to members seeking full-time educational leave.

Professional Development Courses

The Edmonton Police Service promotes and fosters an environment of life-long learning and continued professional development. Programs have been developed in conjunction with the University of Alberta, Athabasca University and other accredited post-secondary institutions to provide members an opportunity to enhance managerial and leadership competencies as well as pursue other educational endeavors.

Moving Allowance

A $2000 moving allowance or re-location bonus is now being offered for successful applicants who reside more than 200 kilometers outside of Edmonton.

Paid Training

As soon as a recruit begins training they start receiving a first-year constable salary ($55,779) and begin contributing toward the Special Forces Pension Plan. Members receive a pension after 25 years of service.

Employee Assistance Program

The Edmonton Police Service recognizes that job performance is directly related to the health and welfare of EPS members and their families. For this reason, the EPS promotes wellness by providing treatment for members who may be experiencing work, family or personal issues. Confidential assistance is available on a voluntary basis to members and their dependents at no cost.
