New recruitment office opening on 97 Street

Recruiting & Selection Unit is moving to 10177 – 97 St., the former City Market. The move will be taking place over the period May 1 to 6.

Services will be reduced during this week, but should be fully up and running at the new location on Monday, May 11.  Interviews already scheduled to take place at the current office location (109 St. and Jasper Ave) between Monday May 4 and Wednesday May 6 will continue to be conducted there on those dates, unless otherwise informed.

The move is not only an exciting change for Recruiting & Selection, but also for the entire EPS. It will address the need for more space and better accommodate Recruiting and Selection members and applicants in the recruiting and selection process. The building has high visibility and its modern appearance will provide a corporate edge for the EPS.

"We are excited to move into our new Recruitment Centre. The additional space will allow our staff to be under one roof again and deliver a higher level of customer service,” explains Sgt. Sharon Bach. “We will be opened for business at the new location on May 11—stop by for a visit!"

The new location is located in the Heritage Quarter of The Quarters, a 20-year downtown revitalization project. The community will eventually combine inviting streetscapes, public spaces, and city’s arts and financial districts, all close to the beautiful river valley.

Dub Architects Ltd. currently owns the building. Gene Dub and his company have won many awards for their work, including a Prairie Design Award of Excellence (2008) and Edmonton Urban Design Award of Merit (2007).

There will be a grand opening, which will be announced as details are finalized.
