WORK | LIFE BALANCE

Officers can find work|life balance in the EPS, a pay scale that starts the minute you begin training, and a degree of flexibility in shifts and opportunities that may surprise you.

New Physical Abilities Test

November 27, 2009

Effective 2010 January 1, the A-PREP will replace the PARE as the standard physical abilities test for Edmonton Police Service applicants.

The role of policing is constantly evolving and the Edmonton Police Service is dedicated to continually updating and improving our recruiting standards.  One such improvement is the A-PREP - the Alberta Physical Readiness Evaluation for Police Officers.

A-PREP was researched and developed province-wide over the course of several years.  The resulting test accurately reflects the physical challenges of true to life, on the job policing tasks.  It is a reliable and meaningful evaluation of the physical preparedness required to become a police officer with the EPS.
