Application Package
To begin the application process, interested candidates must submit the Application and Personal Disclosure Form, together with a typewritten Resume. The required attachments listed on page one of the application form must be included in order for the application to be considered complete and an incomplete package can delay the selection process. Forms must be legible and free of grammatical errors to ensure that our members correctly understand the information included. Applications and documents should not be placed in binders or pockets, but may be stapled or clipped together. Once these documents are submitted, a candidate officially enters into the selection process for employment as a sworn member of the Edmonton Police Service.
Canadian applicants who have completed their grade 12 schooling within Canada are not required to submit the International Qualifications Assessment Certificate, as listed on the front cover of the application form. This certificate is only required for international applicants or Canadian applicants who completed their high school education outside of Canada.

Applications are pre-screened when received by the Recruit Selection Unit to ensure that they are complete. In the event that they are not complete, a member from the Recruit Selection Unit will contact the candidate to notify them of the missing material or outstanding issue(s). Suitable candidates who have submitted complete applications will advance to Stage 2 and the formal part of the selection phase.
Applications are valid for one year from the date of submission. Applicants who have been out of the selection process beyond the one year mandate of their application are required to submit a new application. Candidates may be deferred, without appeal at any stage of the selection process, based on competitiveness. In some cases, permanent disqualification from reapplication may occur irrespective of deferral policy.
