JR/SR High School Students

Being a police officer is hard work. It’s not only about being physically fit but also about finding solutions to problems in your community, setting a good example for those around you, and being a good communicator.

Our application process is highly competitive. Just because you can’t apply right now, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t start preparing now.   Take a look at the Minimum Requirements to assist.

Make the right decisions

The decisions and choices you make now are going to affect your opportunities later. Don’t participate in illegal activities like doing drugs. If you know friends who do, stop hanging around them.

Study hard – It matters

Study hard and get the best marks you can. Getting great marks is important because it shows hard work and commitment. It also gets you into post secondary, something we recommend all our applicants to have.

Get in the routine

Being physically fit is a must for every officer. The key to physical fitness is to incorporate it into your daily routine--it’s both essential for the job and a healthy lifestyle choice.

Start today with daily fitness activity and you will be a stronger applicant and healthier person. When you’re on the job…it will already be habit.

It’s about the community - Volunteer

It’s all about improving the communities we live in. Finding an organization that you are passionate about and volunteering your time to help them will go a long way.
