Application Checklist

If you are applying online through APATS, you will be required to download, scan and upload the following documents (excluding the Personal Disclosure Form). If you are submitting your application by mail, originals are required of the following reports:

  • handwritten Personal Disclosure Form
  • completed Security Clearance Declaration (located within EPS Application) 
  • completed Vision Report
  • completed Supplemental Vision Report (if required)
  • completed Hearing Report
  • completed Authorization for Release of Information

If you are applying online through APATS, scanned and uploaded copies of the following documents are required. If you are submitting your application by mail, copies are required of the following:

  • high school diploma (or GED) and official transcripts, or, for international applicants, IQAS certificate;
  • post-secondary diplomas/degrees and official transcripts, if applicable;
  • current first aid and CPR certificates;
  • driver’s licence;
  • driver’s abstract (dated within one month);
  • pardons, if applicable;
  • proof of citizenship/residency (birth certificate, citizenship or permanent resident documentation, etc.).

During the selection process (usually prior to interview), applicants will be asked to provide five written letters of reference (in addition to the references listed in the application form) and a typewritten resume.

Applicants are advised that any costs associated with the application process are borne by the applicant and are not reimbursed by the Edmonton Police Service, for example; vision test, hearing test, obtaining a Driver’s Abstract, High School Transcript, First Aid and CPR certification, vision or hearing surgery, or physician’s fee for medical clearance to run the APREP. The cost of any of the above may vary from one provider to another and may vary between provinces; applicants should contact providers directly to enquire about costs. There is no application submission fee, exam fees or APREP fee.
