CARRT

Protecting Edmonton’s children is a special opportunity for EPS officers to make a big difference in a little life. The Child at Risk Response Team (CARRT) Section is a partnership between the EPS and Alberta Children Services.

A Child at Risk Response Team consists of an EPS Constable and a Child Welfare investigator from Alberta Children Services. The teams provide a multi-disciplinary approach to assisting children at risk, providing intervention, and providing resources to the families of these children.

EPS Constables can apply for a position within the CARRT unit. Members should typically have approximately five years of service in Patrol prior to applying for the CARRT unit. Members should have a strong desire to work with children and must be able to work effectively with other city and provincial agencies.
